4. What was it that made Jan realize that something was wrong upon his return to Earth? Describe what he learns from Karellen about the children. What does Jan learn about the history of the Overlords with mankind and our fear of recognition?
5. Knowing how the book ends, revisit this question: do you think Karellen purposely let Jan stowaway? Explain why you think the way you do.
